Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- Yu Myong Rim, a pupil of Pyongyang June 9 Ryongbuk Secondary School, is gaining popularity in his teens as a young table tennis star in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. He greatly contributed to his team winning the table tennis tournament of the 36th National Schoolchildren's Sports Contest for Jongilbong Prize held some time ago. He bagged two gold medals at the tournament. Last year, he won the singles of the juvenile table tennis tournament of the 46th National Games of Juvenile Sports Schools. His forte is backhand drive and strong shot and cutting. He began playing table tennis in the first year of primary school. He is gifted with wrist snap. Choe Chun Ae, a 38-year-old physical education teacher of Pyongyang June 9 Ryongbuk Secondary School, told KCNA that Yu Myong Rim would surely distinguish himself in both local and international tournaments in the future. |
