Photo Exhibition Opens to Mark Entry of CPV into Korean Front

Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- A photo exhibition was opened at the Pyongyang Center for Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries on Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front. Displayed in the venue of the opening ceremony are photos dealing with the activities conducted by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il together with revolutionaries of the elder generation of China including Chairman Mao Zedong and Hu Jintao for the development of the friendly relations between the two countries and photos showing the history of the DPRK-China friendship. Present there were Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health who doubles as chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, Jon Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, officials concerned, working people in the city, Ambassador Liu Hongcai and staff members of the Chinese embassy here. Speeches were made at the opening ceremony. Choe Chang Sik said that the Chinese party and government made contributions to the victory in the war by assisting the Korean people in their heroic struggle, paying high tribute to the fallen fighters of the CPV who unhesitatingly dedicated youth and lives. He expressed the belief that the exhibition would contribute to boosting the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. Liu Hongcai said that resisting America and aiding Korea recorded a shining page in the world history of the war against aggression, adding that the Sino-DPRK friendship sealed in blood is growing stronger under the care of the leaders of the two countries. He said that the Chinese people would together with the Korean comrades carve out the beautiful future of the traditional Sino-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation provided by the revolutionaries of the elder generation. At the end of the opening ceremony the participants looked round the photos on display. |
