Boosted China-DPRK Friendship Called for

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Zhou Yongkang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission of Politics and Law of the Communist Party of China, who visited the DPRK on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea said that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have grown stronger with each passing day.

The exchange and cooperation between the two countries have further developed this year, he said, noting that General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited China two times this year during which he had in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern and reached an important agreement with General Secretary Hu Jintao.

He recalled that Kim Jong Il's China visits contributed to developing the traditional Sino-DPRK friendship to a new higher stage.

We would strive hard together with the Korean comrades for the beautiful future of the bilateral friendship, he said, adding:

This year is a significant year marking the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers' entry into the Korean front.

We should carry forward the noble intention of the fallen fighters of the CPV.

I hope that the flower of the China-DPRK friendship would be brought into fuller bloom.
