Amidst the wreath-laying music after the national anthems of China and the DPRK were played, Kim Jong Il together with the senior officials of the party and army who accompanied him laid wreaths before the grave of Mao Anying and the cemetery of fallen fighters of the CPV and paid silent tribute to the fallen fighters of the CPV.

Then he went round the grave of Mao Anying and the cemetery of fallen fighters of the CPV.

Recollecting with deep emotion the great feats and merits performed by the brave fighters of the CPV during the past Fatherland Liberation War, he said that the noble self-sacrificing spirit and militant friendship displayed by the fallen fighters of the CPV would be always remembered by the Korean people.

The mountains and plains of Korea are associated with the blood shed by the brave fighters of the CPV and they convey their noble feats and soul, he noted, underscoring the need to take good care of the cemeteries of the fallen fighters of the CPV who laid down their lives for the common cause so that their shining exploits might go down in history forever.
