Resignation of Chief of Police Agency Demanded

| Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Members of civic and public organizations grouping people of various strata of south Korea including the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty at a press conference in Seoul on October 25 demanded the resignation of the chief of the puppet Police Agency. Recalling that those concerned of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration have been subject to ceaseless crackdown, they clarified that Jo Hyon O, the newly appointed chief of the police agency, was behind this suppression. They accused Jo of playing the role of a running dog of the repressive regime despite the people's criticism and denunciation. They urged him to stop the reckless suppression and step down as early as possible. |
