Sin Kum Son, chief of the Sinwon Greengrocery in Pothonggang District, told KCNA they had kept in store several dozen tons of sweet potatoes and chestnuts this year to serve customers.

Many years ago, President Kim Il Sung provided a production and supply system of sweet potatoes and chestnuts for Pyongyang citizens to take roast chestnuts and sweet potatoes in autumn.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il took all necessary measures to fully supply Pyongyang with sweet potatoes and chestnuts every year.

The supply system worked well even in the period when the country was in the "Arduous March", the forced march.
