The secretary of the Rome Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Italy said that the reelection of Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK not only provides a sure guarantee for carving out a rosy future of the DPRK and achieving national prosperity but gives great courage and hope to the world progressive political parties and peoples in their struggle for socialism.

He praised Kim Jong Il as a brilliant thinker and theoretician and a political elder who has protected the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean people and developed the WPK into an ever-victorious iron-willed party and turned the DPRK into a political and military power and a socialist bulwark.

He expressed support and solidarity with the Korean people in their efforts to build a thriving socialist nation and reunify the country.

The secretary general of the Italian Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea noted that the Korean people's struggle for reunifying the country will surely culminate in frustrating the vicious moves of the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces and winning a victory.
