A report was made by Chairman of the association Alejandro Cao de Benos to be followed by speeches.

Alejandro Cao de Benos in his report referred to the fact that General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided the historic north-south summit and saw to it that the June 15 joint declaration was adopted and published, adding:

The publication of the declaration was a historic event which provided a turning point in the reunification movement of the Korean people and marked an important occasion in promoting understanding between the north and the south and bringing earlier the day of the independent and peaceful reunification.

The adoption of the October 4 declaration, the program for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, brought a rosy future for the reunification movement of the Korean nation.

The chairman of the association recalled that President Kim Il Sung put forward the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and clarified the 10-point policy to be carried out by the federal state.

He called on all the members of the association to make positive efforts to realize the reunification of Korea, the behest of the President, at an early date.

The representatives of the British and German branches of the association and other speakers praised Kim Il Sung as a great man who devoted his whole life to the reunification of the country, adding that the immortal exploits performed by him for national reunification are shining more brightly under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
