Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- The song "Where Are You, Dear General?" is one of the masterpieces created by General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Guiding the creation of the revolutionary opera "The Story of a Nurse" early in November, Juche 60 (1971), he created the song based on the heroine's reverence for President Kim Il Sung. It, the theme song of the opera, represents the inner world of a nurse finding her way to the supreme command, faced with harsh trials, during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953). The song has become increasingly popular among the Korean people. Encouraged by the song, the Korean army and people have devotedly safeguarded the headquarters of the revolution and made tremendous achievements in the efforts for the building of a thriving nation. The song has played a big role in turning the country into a political, ideological and military power that launched satellites and possesses nuclear weapons. It also inspires the Korean people with confidence in victory in their effort to convert the country into a prosperous and powerful nation under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. |
