Revitalization of Inter-Korean Dialogue Called for
|
|
Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Nowadays dialogue for cooperation in the field of humanitarianism is taking place between the north and the south amid the great attention of people at home and abroad. To positively preserve the atmosphere of dialogue provided with much effort is very important for improving the inter-Korean relations and achieving peace and independent reunification of the country. Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article. All Koreans in the north and the south and overseas hope that the humanitarian work, to say nothing of the issue of separated families and relatives, would be revitalized to improve the deteriorated inter-Korean relations as early as possible, the article says, and goes on: To revitalize the dialogue between the north and the south is the best way for improving their present abnormal relations. Without putting an end to the present situation of mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south and turning their relationship into that of reconciliation and cooperation, is it impossible to ease the acute tension between the north and the south and achieve peaceful reunification. An urgent task in improving the inter-Korean relations at present is to revitalize the dialogue between the north and the south. This dialogue should be an occasion to solve in an open-hearted manner the issues arising between the north and the south. It should never be used as a lever to defend and justify any wrong assertion and policy. Even now the south Korean authorities remain unchanged in their inveterate stance of confrontation with fellow countrymen, though outwardly calling for dialogue. Rejection to dialogue just means seeking confrontation and war. The north-south dialogue should be substantially conducive to independent reunification, peace and prosperity, and it should serve as one reflecting the will of all political parties, public organizations and people from all walks of life in the north and the south. Nobody can expect improved inter-Korean relations anytime if the south Korean authorities frantically stage the joint military exercises with foreign forces to threaten the dialogue partner and persist in plot slandering its system as they are now doing. The continuation of the present deteriorated north-south relations will bring nothing good to the south Korean authorities, either. The south Korean authorities should squarely face up to the reality and drop their anachronistic anti-DPRK policy and turn to the respect and honest implementation of the inter-Korean declarations. There is no change in the DPRK's stand to achieve the unity of the nation and resolve the reunification problem by developing the north-south dialogue. |
