Kim Jong Il Enjoys Art Performance Given by Employees of CBCK

Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, enjoyed a performance given by the art squad of the Central Broadcasting Committee of Korea on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Korean Central Broadcasting. Put on the stage were such colorful numbers of various genres as poem and story-telling "The Three Commanders of Mt. Paektu and Broadcasting of Korea", mixed quartet and chorus "Glory to Our Great Party," female sextet "If Our Mother Party Wishes", drama taken from real story "Chon Bok and Man Kil 'Fuse'", drum beating and singing "It Is Offensive", witticism "Ttolttoli and Samnyo 'Let Us Focus'" and chorus "The DPRK Does If It Is Determined." The performers enthusiastically sang of the shining course covered by the Juche broadcasting of the DPRK over the last 65 years under the leadership of the party and the leader and their great pride and happiness of conducting worthwhile media activities under the loving care of Kim Jong Il. They successfully represented the firm faith and will of the broadcasting personnel to live and struggle as eternal companions of the WPK who share destiny with it to the last. Kim Jong Il waved back to the enthusiastically cheering performers and audience and congratulated the performers on their successful presentation. He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the employees of the CBCK staged a splendid performance replete with the spirit of the era with numbers of great cognitional and instructive value as it truthfully reflected their life by earnestly learning from the soldier culture created in the era of Songun. He highly appreciated the success made in the performance and extended thanks to the performers. Our media persons are now enthusiastically praising the WPK's Songun idea, the Songun politics, deeply aware of the mission and duty they have assumed before the times and the revolution, and remaining loyal to its leadership, he said, adding with pride that the WPK is highly proud of having such trustworthy media persons. He highly appreciated the successes made by the broadcasting personnel of the CBCK, noting that they defended the party and the leader politically and ideologically and positively encouraged the army and people of the DPRK in their drive to accomplish the cause of building a thriving nation, tightly holding the pens and microphones of the revolution either in those glorious days or days of stern trials. When the media become alive with activities, the whole country seethes with a revolutionary surge and when the hearts of the journalists and other media persons burn with enthusiasm, the mental power of all the servicepersons and people is fully displayed at present, the historic juncture when a decisive turn is taking place in the efforts to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of building a thriving socialist nation, he said, setting forth highly important tasks to be fulfilled by them. Among the audience were Kim Ki Nam and Hong Sok Hyong, members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK, Pak To Chun, Choe Ryong Hae and Thae Jong Su, alternate members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, and commanding officers of the KPA. |
