Rodong Sinmun today says this in a by-lined article.

What is important in realizing the reconciliation and cooperation of the Korean nation divided into the north and the south is for both sides to settle all problems on the basis of the idea of "By our nation itself", the article says, and goes on:

The truthfulness and vitality of the said idea for national independence and unity were fully displayed through the practices in the June 15 era of reunification.

However, the on-going dialogue between the north and the south has not born tangible fruit owing to their fundamental difference in stance and attitude towards the dialogue.

If the south side keeps approaching the dialogue from the present wrong stand, the inter-Korean dialogue will drag on without any good fruition and, in the long run, bring disappointment only to the fellow countrymen as it did last year.

The reality eloquently shows who is the anti-reunification force that holds monopoly over the north-south dialogue, chills the atmosphere of national reconciliation and cooperation and persistently hinders the improvement of the inter-Korean relations, only pursuant to the interests of a tiny handful of ultra-right conservatives with indifference to the common interests of the nation.

If the south Korean authorities are truly willing to improve the north-south relations and achieve independent reunification, they should stop standing in the way of reconciliation and cooperation under the absurd conditions and pretext.
