Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

All the Koreans at home and abroad should hold higher the banner of the inter-Korean declarations and turn out as one in a patriotic struggle for implementing them as national reunification presents itself as a more urgent issue and the anti-reunification moves are getting pronounced.

They should remain true to the idea of "By our nation itself", the basic idea of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The national reunification should be achieved independently by the concerted efforts of the Koreans in the north and the south free from any outside interference. Only when it is done so, is it possible to successfully achieve national reunification in line with the will and interests of the nation.

All the Koreans should unite close in the above-said idea, irrespective of party grouping, stratum, region and affiliation, to overcome obstacles and difficulties lying in the way of the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and the country's reunification and put spurs to the accomplishment of the June 15 cause.

They should reject the sycophantic and treacherous cooperation with outsiders and materialize the national cooperation.

Only when national cooperation is achieved, is it possible for the Korean nation to safeguard the gains of the June 15 era of reunification from the moves of the separatists at home and abroad and conduct dynamic practical activities to consolidate them.

It is one of the essential issues of giving momentum to the trend of the June 15 era of reunification to struggle for peace against a war. Only when peace is ensured is it possible to achieve reunification and guarantee the life of the Koreans and prosperity of the nation.

Any Korean desirous of living as a member of a reunified nation in a peaceful land free from aggressors and traitors and war should turn out as one in the struggle for peace against a war.

All the Koreans should unite close under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and wage a nationwide struggle for frustrating the anti-reunification confrontation moves of the U.S. and treacherous forces. Only then they will have matchless strength and a wide avenue will be paved for the peace and independent reunification of the country.
