Sports-related Data Displayed at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- New sports-related data are on display at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium. Highlighted in the exhibits are data showing the feats performed by President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk for the country's sports development. Kim Il Sung, well aware of the importance of physical culture, put forward an original and popular sports policy after the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule and paid deep concern to the country's sports development. Kim Jong Il wisely guided the effort for applying Juche-oriented tactics and principles in games, training reserve sportspersons in a far-sighted way, developing sports science and laying solid material and technical foundations of the sports sector. Kim Jong Suk participated in an opening ceremony of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and watched a sports meet of the pupils. The exhibits also include data on Hero of the Republic Jong Song Ok, Labour Heroes Pak Yong Sun, Kye Sun Hui, Ri Song Hui, Pae Kil Su, Kim Il and other sportspersons who augmented the dignity and honor of the country at international tournaments. Achievements the Korean athletes made in the 8th World Cup and other international tournaments of volleyball, speed skating, table-tennis, weightlifting, boxing and other events are also on show. |
