Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea placed the first at the 2010 Asian U-19 and U-16 Football Championships. It was a result of the regular reserve training system established in the country under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government. All juvenile sports schools and secondary and primary schools across the country have football groups embracing a large number of students and pupils. They compete in the National Schoolchildren's Sports Contest for Jongilbong Prize and the National Games of Juvenile Sports Schools every year, fully displaying their skill, gaining experience and improving their techniques. Most of the footballers belonging to the DPRK's u-19 and u-16 teams, qualified for the 2011 FIFA U-20 and U-17 World Cup, were produced by the reserve training system. |
