Thrice Honored Red Flag School
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Samhung Secondary School in Pyongyang is greeting its 65th anniversary.

It was named by President Kim Il Sung on November 22, Juche 34 (1945) after the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule.

Samhung means bringing up able persons with a wide range of knowledge, noble morality and a strong physique and making the nation prosperous.

Talking to KCNA, Jong Mun Chon, principal of the school, introduced the history of the school.

President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent to the school large quantities of teaching aids and educational materials several times and gave it instructions highly important in education and edification, he said, and went on:

The school is fully equipped with such educational facilities as library, computer room, foreign languages study room and laboratory.

It has steadily improved educational contents and methods as required by the developing situation and organized various after-school activities, including a do-good-thing movement, to produce many all-round persons.

The school has become a Thrice Honored Red Flag School and a model in training students to be knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong.
