Kim grew up, given an ample opportunity of learning under the socialist system of the DPRK, before performing feats while serving in the Korean People's Internal Security Forces. He did such heroic deed as dedicating his life to rescuing his comrades from the jaw of death in the construction site of the Huichon Power Station.

A ceremony of renaming the school took place on Sunday.
