Achievements of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industries
Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- The officials and workers in the field of foodstuff and daily necessities industries have achieved successes in technological updating and production.

At least 860 factories carried out their yearly plans before the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea this year and many other units took their cue.

This year's plan of the Ministry of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry for the production of August 3 consumption goods was overfulfilled by 12 percent.

The Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, the Pyongyang Flour Processing Factory and the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory put different production processes on a CNC basis while the Pyongyang Mechanical Pencil Factory built a new automated mechanical pencil production process in a brief span of time.

Technological updating was pushed forward at local industrial factories in various provinces and an increasing number of units honored their yearly plans.

The Paekunsan and Suyangsan combined foodstuff factories, combined special products processing centers of "Samilpho" style, technologically updated confectionary, bread and noodle production processes while the Jongbangsan Combined Foodstuff Factory modernized the maize and flour processing processes.

North Hwanghae Province put various processes of nearly 40 factories on a CNC basis and South Hwanghae Province technologically updated the production processes of the Haeju Essential Foodstuff Factory, the Jaeryong and Pyoksong foodstuff factories, etc. which are now profusely paying off.

More successes were reported from factories in South Hamgyong Province. The Hamhung Disabled Soldiers' Essential Plastic Goods Factory is producing injection-molded crystal sandals beautiful in their shapes and color and very comfortable for wear.
