Actions for Repeal of Evil Law Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean People's Solidarity for the Repeal of the "National Security Law" held a press conference on Dec. 1, 62 years since the fascist law was fabricated.

The organization charged that this evil law, a virtual copy of the "Maintenance of the Public Order Act" during the Japanese imperialists' rule over Korea in the past, has earned ill-fame as a means for maintaining the power of the successive dictatorial regimes and a lever for suppressing the people's struggle for democratization.

The organization accused the authorities of having resorted to wiretapping, investigation, search, walking away, arrest, etc. by increasing the number of security machines and invoking the evil law since the candlelight actions of people of different circles against the import of the American beef infected mad cow disease.

The spearhead of suppression has always been directed to the democratic figures and progressive camp critical of the present regime, it noted, calling upon the people from all walks of life aspiring after democratization, human rights, equality, peace and reunification to pool their efforts to wage a dynamic struggle to get the NSL abolished.
