Dance Notation Becomes More Scientific

| Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- The dance notation, created in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the initiative of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and under his energetic guidance, has become more scientific and plainer, gaining an increasing popularity in the country and other nations. It, based on the principle of the Korean alphabets made up of consonants and vowels, marks dance movements and postures as vowels, and dance positions as consonants. Pyongyang University of Dance and other dance educational institutes give education in dance notation to train its experts. They have also written dance practice textbooks and reference books with dance notation, putting education in dance on a scientific basis. Dance notation explanation sessions were held in Pyongyang several times for dance experts of other countries. |
