Lao President Meets WPK Delegation

| Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Choummaly Saynasone, president of Laos and general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, on December 6 met and had a conversation with the delegation of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Kim Yong Il, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, on a visit to his country. The President extended warm congratulations to General Secretary Kim Jong Il on his reelection as general secretary of the WPK at its conference. He noted that the Lao party and government would continue to boost the friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries which were provided by Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung. He expressed the belief that the Korean people would frustrate the moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK and surely build a thriving nation under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il. |
