Signal Achievements Made in Iron and Steel Production

| Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The officials, workers and technicians of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex boosted the production of pig iron 2.5 times, that of steel 4.2 times and that of rolled steel 6.7 times as of early in December as compared with those in the corresponding period of last year. The blast furnace shop daily increased the production of pig iron and the Juche iron-based blast furnace shop and steel shops No. 1 and 2 brought about a surge in production while the hot-rolling shop upped the production of rolled steel per unit hour. Sintering shops No. 1 and 2 overfulfilled their monthly plans while the coke shop, the fire-resisting material shop and the pipeline transport office contributed to boosting the iron and steel production. |
