Halt to Warmongers' Reckless Saber-rattling Demanded in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- 30 south Korean organizations including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Confederation of Trade Unions, the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification on December 6 published a joint statement denouncing the puppet warmongers' reckless saber-rattling. The statement recalled that the south Korean Ministry of Defense announced it would stage shelling simultaneously in 29 places of the East, West and South Seas of south Korea from that day, adding that they include Taechong Island, one of the five islands in the West Sea, located under the eyes of the DPRK. It accused the newly appointed minister of Defense of crying out for attack on the north, openly disclosing his bellicose nature. A crisis is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula in which a war may break out any moment, the statement noted, urging the authorities to immediately stop the dangerous racket for military confrontation and opt for dialogue. |
