Central Zoo Fauna Grows Larger

Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The Central Zoo in Pyongyang has embraced more rare animals. According to Pak Yong Hui, an official of the zoo, Genral Secretary Kim Jong Il has sent animals of over 70 kinds, including Korean tiger, to the zoo this year for public entertainment. Several dozen animals of some ten kinds sent to Kim Jong Il from other countries as gifts also joined the zoo. Among the newcomers are African lions, dromedaries, barbary sheep, black bucks and dogs of Tibet breed. This year animals of more than 120 kinds, including horses of Mongolian breed, have multiplied into hundreds in the zoo. The zoo is now concentrating on providing the animals with better ecological environment suitable for the winter season. |
