Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

No sooner had the U.S.-south Korea joint maneuvers been over than the Japanese warmongers staged the largest-ever joint military exercises with the U.S. This brings into bolder relief the aggressive nature of the Japanese militarist forces blinded with the wild ambition for reinvasion.

It is a hackneyed method of Japan to go reckless in a bid to fish in troubled waters, seizing the situation getting tense on the Korean Peninsula every time as a "good chance".

It was in pursuance of this aim that the Japanese reactionaries staged the madcap military exercises, keeping pace with the moves of the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces to ignite a war. This is little short of adding fuel to the fire.

The U.S. is staging joint military exercises one after another in the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula in a bid to aggravate the situation in Northeast Asia. Through them the U.S. seeks to knock into shape a triangular military alliance grouping the U.S., Japan and south Korea and secure a pretext for starting a war in the region. Meanwhile, the Japanese reactionaries, sitting on a war chariot of the U.S., seek to turn Japan into a military giant and realize their ambition for reinvasion.

The Japanese militarists are now kicking up war hysteria, seriously threatening and disturbing the peace and security in Northeast Asia.

But, Japan's option for reinvasion only leads to destruction and disgrace. The time will prove it.
