Hyon in his appearance at a recent "academic meeting" blustered that it is necessary for "south Korea to carve out the future of the Korean Peninsula on its initiative" with "freedom, human rights, democracy and market economy as values," terming the Yonphyong Island shelling incident "the last option" of someone.

These reckless confrontation remarks only betray the group of traitors' sinister attempt to further escalate the confrontation between the north and the south and hype their scenario for achieving unification through absorption.

Hyon is wholly to blame for escalating the confrontation between compatriots hour by hour, holding the post of the chief of the ministry as he was an architect of the policy of anti-reunification and confrontation of the south Korean conservative regime and its executor.

He put up the watchword "no nukes, opening and 3000 dollars" little short of a declaration of confrontation with the DPRK in total denial of the June 15 joint declaration. He derailed dialogue, cooperation and exchange between the north and the south and deepened distrust and confrontation, crying out for "setting right the inter-Korean relations" that allegedly went wrong in the last decade. This was all what he has done.

No wonder, the puppet ministry of Unification is derided by the south Korean people as a ministry of division and confrontation as it has taken the lead in bringing the inter-Korean relations to a collapse.

The boss of the ministry has gone the lengths of crying out for unification through absorption, not content with inciting confrontation. This indicates the group of traitors is in its evil days.

The conservative group of south Korea is strongly censured by the public at home and abroad for having pushed the inter-Korean relations to catastrophe. It is tight-cornered internally and externally.

In order to seek a way out of this predicament the group talked nonsense shortly ago that what is the most important at the present stage is to build up public opinion calling for the discussion on "expenses for unification" and "proposal for the delivery of economic resources" and it is necessary to bring about "a social agreement." The group also let loose sophism calling for unification through absorption at an "academic meeting" in the wake of trumpeting about "ten-year plan for unification."

These facts go to prove that the ulterior intention of the puppet group's rackets for confrontation with the DPRK and a war is to escalate the confrontation of the systems and realize its wild ambition to achieve unification through absorption.

The confrontation elements utterly ignorant of the socialist system in the DPRK centered on the popular masses are free to let loose reckless remarks slandering it, seized with the wild ambition to achieve unification through absorption. This is as foolish an act as beating the air.

It is impossible to achieve national reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, as long as such diehard anti-reunification element as Hyon is allowed to stay in office.
