Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The State Theatre in Pyongyang was reconstructed in a fashionable way to suit both classical and modern aesthetic tastes. The 620-seat theatre has up-to-date lighting and sound arresting facilities with its interior decorated in a peculiar and beautiful way. The broad stage has several draw curtains to serve the convenience of drama performance. The main hall of the theatre has gorgeous chandeliers and light decorations, with beautiful curves of the stairs and ceiling adding to its fascinating appearance. The front wall of the hall is embossed with impressive scenes of "The Shrine", "Blood at an International Conference", "Three Pretenders" and other two revolutionary dramas, elevating the features of the theatre as the centre of Juche-oriented theatrical art. The theatre is furnished with rehearsal halls, dressing rooms, auxiliary buildings, welfare service amenities and all other facilities needed to conduct artistic activities and appreciate performance. General Secretary Kim Jong Il initiated the reconstruction of the theatre and dispatched able designers and a strong building force to undertake the project. He frequently acquainted himself with the progress of the reconstruction and solved all problems arising in the project. Under his wise leadership, the project was completed successfully in a matter of four months or little more. |
