Anniversaries of DPRK Marked Abroad

| Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Events were held in countries and by a regional organization on Dec. 15 and 16 to mark the 19th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's gaining of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 93rd birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. A seminar took place in Syria, round-table talks and a film show in Uganda and an opening ceremony of week of DPRK book and photo exhibition by the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement. On display there were books and photos on the feats of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Korean films shown were "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Army of the DPRK." Speakers at the events lauded the Songun revolutionary leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il and the brilliant revolutionary life of Kim Jong Suk. The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il is a treasured sword that helped the DPRK demonstrate its might as an invincible socialist state and a daily prospering power despite the moves of the imperialists to stifle it, they stressed. |
