KCNA Assails Japan's Cunning Scenario for Overseas Aggression
|

Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- Some days ago Japan conducted a drill for the inspection of cargo of airliners bound for the DPRK. The drill was allegedly conducted according to the so-called "'Cargo Inspection Law' which calls for inspecting ships and planes suspected of carrying nuclear and missile related cargo bound for north Korea." This brings to light the ulterior intention of the Japanese reactionaries to fish in troubled waters by taking advantage of the escalating tension on the Korean Peninsula. The recent drill staged by Japan in the wake of its enforcement of the above-said law since July suggests that it was part of Japan's moves to convert itself into a military power, an indication of a step forward in carrying out its overseas military operation. Its target is the DPRK. As part of its preparations for overseas aggression Japan has steadily boosted the military operation capability of the "Self-Defense Forces." It unusually increased the frequency of urgent takeoff the Air "Self-Defense Force" and started developing supersonic air-to-ship missiles meant for F-2s under the pretext of coping with unidentified planes likely to intrude into its territorial air although there was not a single foreign plane which violated its territorial air in recent years. The new "guidelines of the defense program" published in Japan recently calls for deploying mobile strike forces mainly formed with Naval and Air "Self-Defense Forces" in its southwestern region close to the Korean Peninsula and China. The anti-DPRK racket and moves for turning Japan into a military giant stepped up by it under the pretext of holding in check the DPRK's "transport of nuclear and missile related cargo" betray a grave militarist scenario for paving the way for reinvasion, availing itself of the tension on the peninsula. Japan is, however, seriously miscalculating. Its military action against the DPRK is bound to lead to its self-destruction. |
