The Mineral Spring Prospecting Corps under the Ministry of Public Health made a survey of more than ten natural springs in Myongchon area this year to confirm that they are useful for the prevention and treatment of diseases.

The sulfur springs in Komun, Taho and Tokpho are 40-80 degrees C.

Those in Masan, Posu Valley and Yondok are 14-16 degrees C.

Korea boasts of several hundred mineral springs.

Most of them are radon, sulfur, iron and chlorine springs efficacious for digestive trouble, hypertension, neuralgia, chronic hepatitis and other diseases.

The temperature of the water is 20-80 degrees C, the maximum being 100 degrees C.

Modern sanatoria were built in Kyongsong, Kangso, Sambang and other famous spas for climatic, physical and mud bath therapies.

Meanwhile, mineral water in Kangso, Sambang, Okhodong and Mt. Myohyang contains sodium calcium bicarbonate, sulfuric aluminum and free carbon.
