Girl quadruplets' mother Pyon Kum Ok is from Yonsan County of North Hwanghae Province and their father an officer of the Korean People's Army.

Since she was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed to be pregnant with quadruplets in October, she has been under the particular care by medical staff.

She had a smooth delivery on Dec. 26.

The quadruplets are growing well in incubators and their mother is in good health.

They are the fifth set of quadruplets to be born at the hospital since its founding. It has so far witnessed the birth of 401 sets of triplets and quadruplets.

Jon Myong Suk, resident in Wonsan City of Kangwon Province, had been barren for years since her marriage. But she gave birth to triplets on Dec. 23 after being treated at the infertility research room of the maternity hospital.
