Officials Pay Tribute to Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, the chairperson of a friendly party and officials of party and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions Saturday visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay tribute to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the New Year.

Placed before the statue of the President was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the WPK Central Military Commission and the National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

The visitors made deep bows to the President who built a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence in Korea and dedicated all his life to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.

The palace was also visited by anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, soldiers and people from all walks of life.

Meanwhile, the diplomatic corps, the military attaches corps and representatives of international organizations here visited the palace to pay tribute to the President.
