Floral Baskets Placed to President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Floral baskets were placed before the statues of President Kim Il Sung across the country on the occasion of the New Year.

The visitors to his statue on Mansu Hill included soldiers, people from all walks of life, school youth and children and overseas compatriots.

Seen there was a floral basket from Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Laid before the statue with flowers were floral baskets in the name of party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, units of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, and institutions at all levels, industrial establishments and schools in the city of Pyongyang.

Also placed was a floral basket in the name of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

The visitors paid tribute to the President who is father of socialist Korea and pioneer of the cause of building a thriving nation.

Floral baskets were laid before his statues at the Kim Il Sung University, the Kim Il Sung Military University and other parts of Pyongyang.

Soldiers, people and school youth and children across the country placed floral baskets and flowers before the statues of the President in their residential areas.
