Rainbows Appear over Jong Il Peak

| Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Jong Il Peak was a spectacular sight early in the morning on the New Year's Day with magnificent sunrise and beautiful rainbows, according to the Group for Comprehensive Exploration of Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu. At around 7:00 dark clouds dispersed and the bright sun rose above Janggun Peak. At around 7:15 two big rainbows rose with the sun in the center and stood for about 15 minutes, presenting picturesque scenery in harmony with frost flowers. The temperature is 17 degrees Celsius below zero, moderate for midwinter, and wind blows at 30 meters per second, raging blizzard. |
