The Okryu Restaurant served special national dishes including Pyongyang cold noodle, chafing dish, sweet rice dish and mung-bean pancake. It also served scores of delicacies including turtle, sturgeon and quail dishes with drinks.

The Chongryu Restaurant attracted people with noodle served with chicken, grilled meat and stew.

Many citizens went to restaurants including the Pyongyang Noodle Restaurant, the Phyongnam Noodle Restaurant and Songyo Restaurant to have national dishes like noodle and rice-cake soup.
