DPRK's Anniversaries Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- Events took place abroad to mark the 19th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the 93rd birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. They included meeting, seminar, friendly meeting, Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition in China, Russia, Cuba, Mongolia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Denmark and Nepal between December 20 and 31 last year. Displayed in the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos introducing the undying exploits of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu, photos showing the real picture of Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with the Korean people's wisdom and skills. The attendees of the events included political and social figures and other people of those countries. The first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification praised Kim Jong Il as the invincible and iron-willed commander leading the cause of socialism to brilliant victory true to the idea and intention of Kim Il Sung and the leader of the people who has devoted his all to national reunification, the greatest desire of the Korean nation. The chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh said that Kim Jong Il has developed the KPA into an army strong in idea and faith and invincible ranks possessed of modern weapons and equipment. The minister of Land Reform and Management of the Nepali government stressed that Kim Jong Suk's exploits would be always remembered not only by the Korean people but by the Nepalese and world progressives. Letters and messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Denmark, Nepal and Mongolia. |
