Those officials gathered at Kim Il Sung Square with the zeal to hasten the advance for a great surge in building a thriving nation in good health by making sports popular and an inseparable part of daily life. And they ran through Sungri Street and Mansudae Street, divided into two groups.

Among them were officials from the Ministry of Light Industry, Ministry of Coal Industry, Ministry of Electric Power Industry, Ministry of Metal Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Unha Guidance Bureau and the Mining Machine Industry Guidance Bureau. Running through the streets, they hardened their will to fulfill their responsibility in this year's general offensive and thus contribute to implementing the strategy of the Workers' Party of Korea for the improvement of people's living standard.

Their high spirit stirred up the atmosphere of the capital city alive with the onward march for improving the standard of people's living.

"Good health is needed above all to bring good results in work," said Kim Mun Chang (53), vice-minister of Coal Industry.

"We government employees generally working in office should take active part in popularization of sports, which will improve our health and bring good results in our work," he told a reporter.

Similar sport events were held in provinces, cities and counties of the country on the same day with attendance of officials, working people and school youth and children.
