DPRK Joint New Year Editorial Supported

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Organizations of Norway, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany made public statements in support of the joint New Year editorial of the DPRK. The Friendship Society Norway-Korea in its statement recalled this year's tasks laid down in the joint editorial. And it expressed firm belief that under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Jong Il, the Korean people would bring about a decisive turn in the improvement of the people's standard of living by accelerating the development of light industry once again this year and thus build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation in the near future without fail. The Czech, Moravian, Silesian Trade Unions' Association of the Czech Republic in its statement said that the tasks for national reunification set forth in the joint editorial are the most reasonable way for Korea's reunification. It expressed support for the Korean people in the efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country through implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration. The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in a joint statement expressed belief that the grand goals laid down in the joint editorial would be hit without fail. Fully supporting the joint editorial, the Franken Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Germany in a statement said: The editorial called for removing the confrontation between the north and the south as soon as possible, defending peace from the danger of war and positively promoting dialogue and cooperation between the two sides at the time when the U.S. and the south Korean authorities were extremely aggravating the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Statements supporting the joint editorial were issued by Harising Khang, member of the C.C., Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Eric Andersson, international secretary of the Communist Party in Sweden. |
