Agitation for Increased Production Brisk

Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- Agitation for increased production is brisk in the DPRK to encourage the working people in their drive to implement the tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial. It calls for bringing about a decisive turn in the improvement of the people's standard of living and the building of a thriving nation by accelerating the development of light industry once again this year. The agitation involves briefing on the main idea and contents of the editorial, explanation with the help of visual aids and arts performance and various other forms and methods.

The agitation proves very successful at the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill, the Pyongyang Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Hosiery Factory and other light industrial factories.

The Ministry of Culture dispatched creative groups to light industrial factories and enterprises to help them produce works for performing programs. Meanwhile, arts squads are giving performances to mesmerize the workers.

Artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe, the State Theatrical Troupe and the State Folk Art Troupe staged their programs to encourage the workers alive with the drive to honor their assignments for the new year.

Agitation for increased production was conducted by other groups. They included the Central Art Agitation Troupe, the Workers' Art Squad of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the Art Squad of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, the Pyongyang City Art Squad and the Art Squad of the Ministry of Capital City Construction.

Successes of the similar arts agitation were reported from Kaesong, Sinuiju and Hoeryong and other cities and counties.
