US-S. Korea's Military Provocations Assailed by Indonesian Figure

| Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- The military provocations committed by the U.S. and the south Korean authorities pushed the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme pitch of tension, said Ristiyanto, general secretary of the National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia, in a statement on Jan. 10. A new war could be averted on the Korean Peninsula thanks to the patience of the DPRK, he noted, and went on: The joint statement of the DPRK's government, political parties and organizations proposed having talks between authorities having real power and responsibility unconditionally and early. It called for discussing and settling all the issues related to the important affairs of the nation. He hailed the important proposal of the DPRK as a fair and aboveboard one to defuse the tension on the Korean Peninsula and protect the interests of all the Koreans. He expressed hope that this proposal would be put into practice to deliver the Korean Peninsula from all sorts of war danger at an early date and create an atmosphere of peace in this region. |
