The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is a landmark of Korea's reunification and an immortal banner hailed and supported by not only the Koreans but the whole world, said Banou Keita, chairman of the Guinea-Korea Friendship Association, in a statement on Jan. 7.

He said:

The basic principle of the settlement of the issue of Korea's reunification is national independence but it does not mean that the international community should sit on the fence over the issue.

It is an important duty of the international community to reject and terminate foreign forces' interference and obstructions to the internal issues of the Korean nation.

Therefore, the international community should extend unreserved support and encouragement to the Korean nation.

Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, chairman of the Egyptian Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, in a statement on Jan. 8 said that there is no more vital task than national reunification for the Korean people at present.

The proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo clarified by President Kim Il Sung, the eternal leader of the Korean people, is the most fair and aboveboard and realistic proposal for the reunification of Korea, he stressed.
