Thanks to the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK witnessed great changes in the work to consolidate the material and technical foundations for the rural economy and the socialist rural construction over the last 10 odd years.

Land rezoning and building of gravity-fed waterways were carried out on a large scale and many rural villages turned into socialist fairyland.

Seed revolution was pushed ahead, new farming technique and methods developed and material and technical foundations laid to produce fertilizer and other farming materials and equipment.

Many modern stock-raising and fruit-producing bases were built to organically combine agricultural production with stockbreeding and develop them together.

The ongoing drive for increased grain production is an honorable and worthwhile work to bring into reality the intention of the WPK to solve the problem of people's living at any cost. It is also a responsible work to open the gate to a thriving nation next year.
