The proposal is aimed to warm the north-south ties and create circumstances favorable for Korea's reunification, said the branch in a statement on Jan. 12. It was made in the joint statement of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK, it added.

If all the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad take the Korean nation-first stand irrespective of ideology and political view they can rid the peninsula of the danger of a war and reunify it independently and peacefully, the statement said.

It called on the south Korean authorities to accept the DPRK's proposal without delay.
