CPRK Denounces S. Korea-Japan Military Nexus

Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities' tightened military nexus with Japan came under fire by the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea Friday. In information bulletin No. 971 the Secretariat denounced the recent talks between the defense ministers of south Korea and Japan in Seoul, in which they discussed tightening military cooperation over non-existent "provocation" by somebody. In particular they agreed to start working consultation for concluding an "agreement on protection of military information" and an "agreement on provision of war supplies". They are aimed at exchange of military information between the south Korean army and the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" and transport and provision of munitions, the bulletin said, adding: South Korea seeks to legalize Japan's provision of military information and support needed for a war against the DPRK while Japan intends to lay a springboard for reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula, realize its militarist ambition for territorial expansion and become the "leader" of Asia. This military confab was made under the manipulation of the U.S. seeking to speed up the formation of triangular military alliance and intensify the scheme for aggression on the DPRK. This military nexus is a dangerous plot for paving a way for the Japanese militarists' reinvasion and igniting a war against the DPRK through triangular military alliance. It is also an intolerable treacherous act of mocking and insulting the Korean nation which has deep grudge against Japan's past crimes. The south Korean authorities try to bring the dark clouds of war to this land in collusion with Japan, the sworn enemy of the Korean nation, while persistently turning down the DPRK's proposal for pooling efforts. Their sycophancy and treachery are arousing wrath and apprehensions from among the people at home and abroad. |
