Kim Jong Il Inspects Foodstuff Factories

Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to foodstuff factories in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province. The first leg of his guidance was the Jongbangsan Combined Foodstuff Factory. After being briefed on the factory, he went round different places of the factory including confectionary, noodle and bread production processes to learn in detail about its technical equipment and production there. He was greatly pleased to see varieties of foodstuffs being churned out in an endless stream from the clean and tidy worksites equipped with modern foodstuff processing facilities built by factories and enterprises in the Province. Tasting biscuit, he was pleased to learn that the factory laid a solid foundation for providing people with greater quantity of tasty and nutritious foodstuffs. He advanced tasks to be fulfilled by the factory for its management and operation. An important task facing the factory is to keep production going at a high rate and increase the production of foodstuffs suited to the features of the Province for its population, he said, adding: It is the will and determination of the party to provide the people with best things. He expressed expectation and belief that the employees of the factory would produce more foodstuffs helpful to improving the diet of people. The next leg of his guidance was the Sariwon Essential Foodstuff Factory. He made the rounds of different production processes of the factory including soy sauce and table oil work teams to get familiar in detail with its technological updating and production there. He praised the officials, workers and technicians of the factory for having kept production going at a high rate. As essential foodstuffs are indispensable for people's daily diet, officials, their servants, should always pay primary attention to their production, he stressed. The last leg of his guidance was the Sariwon Jongbang Foodstuff Producers' Cooperative. Looking round the process for the production of sliced vegetables preserved in soy sauce, he acquainted himself in detail with technical equipment of the cooperative and production there. He praised the producers there for producing varieties of tasty and nutritious subsidiary food. He underscored the need for the cooperative to minutely conduct its business activities to produce tasty and nutritious subsidiary food for people by preserving the good tradition of the Korean nation. To boost the production of the above-said vegetables and other subsidiary food is of weighty importance in implementing the behest of President Kim Il Sung that women should be freed from household chores, he said, expressing expectation and conviction that its officials and producers would make a positive contribution to improving people's diet. He was accompanied by Kim Ki Nam and Choe Thae Bok, members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, Choe Ryong Hae and Kim Phyong Hae, alternate members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Mun Kyong Dok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK and chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, and Pak Thae Dok, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK. |
