World Community Hails DPRK Joint Statement

| Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- The DPRK joint statement of government, political parties and organizations has aroused positive support from among the international community. Carried in the statement is an important proposal for tiding over the difficulties on the Korean Peninsula, improving the north-south relations and opening up a new phase for peace and reunification. In a little more than 20 days since the publication of the statement many media of different countries gave coverage to the full text or gist of it. More than 100 governments, political parties and organizations, international and regional organizations and personages of different circles made public statements and appeals to fully support the peace-loving proposal of the DPRK. They unanimously described the proposal as an epoch-making and important one for improving the inter-Korean relations at a catastrophe and bringing the bright prospect of Korea's reunification. They also called upon governments, political parties and organizations of all countries, international organizations and progressive peoples who love justice, truth and peace to extend support to the joint statement. The Guinean government sent the DPRK embassy a note that the important proposal would be a sure guarantee for global peace and stability. Meetings for solidarity with the Korean people took place in different countries in this regard. |
