The spring water is called a cure-all as it is especially efficacious for the treatment of chronic colitis, chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcer, chronic hepatitis, etc. and has antioxidant effect.

According to scientists, the spring water is recognized as one for longevity as it contains major ions and various minerals.

It also meets the international water quality standard.

The DPRK government built a spring water factory in the area of Mt. Ryongak in 2007 for supplying it to the citizens of Pyongyang on a regular basis.

Manager Kim Tong Suk, 60, told in an excited tone about the warm loving care and benevolence shown by the Workers' Party of Korea for the supply of the spring water to the citizens.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il recently gave field guidance to the factory. He tasted the water produced there and appreciated it.
