The celebration began with prologue "We Extend Lunar New Year Greetings".

Amid the display of beautiful songs and dances, schoolchildren and little boys and girls made lunar New Year bows to General Secretary Kim Jong Il who has realized the grand plan of prosperity for the bright future for the country, the people and the rising generation.

The numbers of the celebration performance included "We Are Happy under Care of Marshal Kim Il Sung", "The General Represents the Whole World", "We Are Grateful for the Party's Care", "We Sing with Accordion of Love" and "The Happiest Day".

The performers vividly depicted the bright appearance of schoolchildren displaying their hope and talents while learning to their heart's content with nothing to envy in the world under the care of the socialist country founded by President Kim Il Sung and glorified by Kim Jong Il.

Present on invitation to enjoy the performance were senior officials of party, state and army, a chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, soldiers, persons of merits, working people in Pyongyang, overseas Koreans staying in the socialist homeland and diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international organizations here and foreign guests.
