The participants will compete in 10 events like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, handball, shooting, ice hockey and skiing in Pyongyang, Samjiyon in Ryanggang Province and other places.

Its opening ceremony was held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium Tuesday.

Present were Kang Nung Su, vice-premier of the Cabinet, and officials concerned.

Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Pak Myong Chol made an opening address.
