The Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea said this in its statement on February 3.

The statement referred to the principles, programmes and proposals set forth by President Kim Il Sung for national reunification and the great unity of the nation.

It noted that the June 15 joint declaration confirmed the main idea of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and the great unity of the nation and ways for achieving them as the firm will of the north and the south.

Pointing to the stand of the DPRK clarified in the recent joint statement of its government, political parties and organizations, the statement noted that this is an expression of the firm will of the DPRK to put an end to sufferings and sorrow resulting from the national division by implementing the joint declaration based on the three principles of national reunification.
